Jennifer Mercer has been involved with the performance industry for over 25 years.
Jennifer has extensive knowledge and experience in dance by owning, and operating Jennifer’s Jazz It Up! Studio of dance for the past 23 years. Prior to opening her own studio, Jennifer danced professionally for 10 years.
Prior to dancing, Jennifer also modeled. Jennifer appeared in several commercial runway fashion shows. The highlight of her modeling career was when she was in an international print campaign for Sony, being featured on billboards and posters across the USA.
Jennifer’s experience of casting, directing and recruiting in the talent industry has gained her great insight into the industry.
Now owning her own studio, Jennifer has lead her team to performances and opportunities all over the world. Her dancers have been featured in many photo shoots, performed on Cruise ships and various half time shows including the NBA’s Toronto Raptors. Jennifer's Jazz It Up was honoured to be the first Canadian dance studio to be officially invited to perform in the prestigious Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade in New York City.
Jennifer is a strong community supporter. She believes in making a difference one child at a time. She believes that EMPOWERING, inspiring and building their self-confidence will help guide them for a better tomorrow. She encourages every child to dream big and wake up and make those dreams a reality. It has always been one of Jennifer's aspirations to become a talent agent and open up a reputable talent agency that utilizes her passion and knowledge to help guide her talent to great success.
Jennifer is always evolving. She has now added on to Empower Talent with Empower Music as well as Empower Sports.
Jennifer has teamed up with industry leader and former boy band member, CJ Huyer to help develop musical acts, singers and songwriters.
Empower Sports has expanded the brand and together with Travis and Kalllaway Mercer, and Empower Hockey Development they are helping build the next generation of young hockey players. It is their belief that by EMPOWERING young athletes it will help them achieve the level of play they desire.
